| 'When you revisit a restaurant
after quite a long gap the prices can surprise you, either nicely
or horribly. It was definitely the former at this 'Progressive Working
Class Caterer'..where the robust menu offers something for everybody.' |

| 'The Quality Chop House, a mere
stumble up Farringdon Road is the best works canteen possible..Not
to be missed.' |

| 'Original Victorian decor and
strong un-mucked-about British cooking (both modern and traditional)
have earned the Quality Chop House high standing in the capital and
a loyal clientele. The QCH suits most tastes and wallets. Favorites
are salmon fishcake with sorrel sauce and lamb chops. Ambience is
informal and relaxed, and the bar is friendly, as befits the self-proclaimed
progressive working class caterer.' |

| 'The original room has retained
its elegant wooden pews, black and white diamond flooring and mirrored
walls. A low-key but reliable venue.' |

'The menu may have changed
but the Quality Chop House is still the best place to come if your
after hearty, no-nonsense, traditional British food at reasonable
prices.
After being greeted like old friends and shown to a cosy wooden
booth, we tucked into bread and olives while poring over a menu
offering everything from indulgent Irish oysters to eggs, bacon
and chips.' ...

| 'Complete with calves liver
and a grilled lamb chop – could this be the biggest breakfast
in Finsbury? The St George’s Breakfast at the Quality Chop House
in Farringdon Road offers more than the traditional greasy fry-up.' |

|
| 'This Clerkenwell classic is
under new management & all the better for it. Now open for hearty
breakfasts, it has also undergone a major refurbishment, which added
a new bar & placed clever extendable cushions atop the bench-like
seats. Everything that comes out of the kitchen is of
the very best quality.' |

| 'The Quality Chop House has
been a mainstay of good eating in Farringdon, London N1, for years.
The area has been transformed in the last decade, with a welter of
trendy restaurants in Exmouth Market, but the QCH, round the corner
on Farringdon Road, has stuck to its guns, serving its take on classic
British cuisine (take a butcher’s at that full English)' |

| 'An impressive menu boasting
hearty British cuisine with an ‘eloquent twist’.
The restaurant has maintained its original Victorian features.
Its black and white chequered floor, oak table and pews gives it
a shabby chic feel.' |

| 'I’ll definitely be going
back to The Quality Chop House. If you like superior quality meat
cooked skilfully, but simply, then this is the place that you must
visit. I’ve not eaten a better beef chop anywhere in any part
of town – east, west, north and south.' |

| 'The Quality Chop House offers
a wide selection of no-nonsense dishes. Over the last decade, dozens
of gastropubs have sprung up offering the same recipe of upmarket
British favourites – few offer the authentic surroundings of
this EC1 institution.' |

| 'The Quality Chop House provides
an outstanding service. It has a pleasant welcoming atmosphere and
offers excellent wholesome food at very reasonable prices. I thoroughly
recommend it.' |

'The Quality Chop House is one
of London's hidden restaurant gems. As someone who eats out a lot,
it's the one place I keep coming back to.
It's got one of the most eclectic menus you'll find. Where else could
you order caviar as a starter and bacon, egg and chips as the main
- and the waiters don't bat an eyelid? Excellent for steak and kidney
pie and you won't get a better corned beef hash anywhere, and there's
always fresh fish and salads for health conscious diners. Small, historic
and unpretentious, this 'progressive working caterer' is always a
good talking point when entertaining guests. The school type tables
and benches give it a warm and cosy feel and the staff are unfailingly
friendly.' |

| '‘Dear Quality
Chop House, My girlfriend and I had dinner at your restaurant last
Saturday night. It was delicious - especially, I think, the beautifully
pink veal rump. The service was faultless and friendly, and the bill
less than expected. We will definitely be returning (we live just
down Farringdon Road). Thanks very much. I'm rarely driven to send
mails like this." |
